Gifted-Specific Coaching
In my role of coach, I specialize in working with gifted, twice- or multi-exceptional (2e) teens or adults at any stage of their discovery process; whether you're just starting out or looking to dive deeper. My coaching sessions are tailored to fit your unique needs and goals. We can keep it light through a mentoring and guidance style, or explore the depths of what makes you truly you, how your neurodivergence informs your life, and how you can take this to your advantage and self-innovate to redesign yourself.
What sets me apart is:
my formal training in gifted psychology and giftedness profiling, using Intergifted’s holistic model of giftedness rather than only working with high IQ scores. While IQ tests measure intellectual abilities, like verbal comprehension, spacial ability and math skills, they neglect other important factors, such as creativity, emotional intelligence, and physical intelligence, and disregard external factors like anxiety, trauma, or lack of motivation that can affect test results.
my expertise in innovation methodologies. Sessions and workshops can combine various methodologies from innovation, traditional and modern healing, such as contemplative art, lego (yes, really!), design thinking, talking, exploring emotions, meditations, and visualizations. This work isn’t all doom & gloom!
In our sessions we can work together to develop a foundational understanding of your unique Intelligence and Intensities profile, as well as how potential twice- or multi-exceptionalities, trauma history, and chronic physical or mental health topics play a role. While I do not offer formal giftedness assessments at this time, I'm happy to make recommendations if that's something you're interested in.
As for the number of sessions, it really depends on what works best for you and your goals. Some clients are happy to have one session to find answers to their most burning questions after which they run off to work on it further by themselves. Other clients know that they want to dive deeper to explore and apply the various aspects of their giftedness and exceptionalities and truly redesign their life. They set the time aside more structurally to focus on specific goals. In this case, coaching can happen on a more regular basis.
Costs
Giftedness coaching costs CHF 150.00 per hour, with sessions usually lasting between 60 and 90 minutes.
How Gifted-Specific Coaching differs from Standard Coaching
In my corporate career I had the privilege of working with amazing coaches who helped me excel and advance on the corporate ladder. However, there was one crucial aspect that was neglected - how I felt on the inside, and what mattered to me. As a gifted individual, my challenges and emotions were often dismissed, downplayed, or even ignored, making me doubt myself. In hindsight, it felt like I was being gaslighted, causing me to strive even harder to fit in and advance my fake self - the masked version of me that tried so hard to conform. But the harder I tried, the further I felt from my true self.
I have found Gifted-specific coaching to be more effective for several reasons:
Advanced and Complex Thinking: Gifted-specific coaches have the intellectual capacity to keep up with gifted individuals' advanced and complex thinking patterns, providing appropriate guidance and support.
Empathy: Gifted-specific coaches understand the social and emotional challenges that gifted individuals may face such as such as feeling alone, empty, different, misunderstood, and provide validation and mirroring in a judgment-free environment.
Going to the Root-Cause: Gifted-specific coaches address challenges at the root, such as perfectionism and overexcitabilities, to truly tailor their coaching approach to individuals' unique needs and wants.
